1예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 실족하게 하는 것이 없을 수는 없으나 그렇게 하게 하는 자에게는 화로다

1Jesus said to his disciples: 'Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come.

2그가 이 작은 자 중의 하나를 실족하게 할진대 차라리 연자맷돌이 그 목에 매여 바다에 던져지는 것이 나으리라

2It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

3너희는 스스로 조심하라 만일 네 형제가 죄를 범하거든 경고하고 회개하거든 용서하라

3So watch yourselves. 'If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.

4만일 하루에 일곱 번이라도 네게 죄를 짓고 일곱 번 네게 돌아와 내가 회개하노라 하거든 너는 용서하라 하시더라

4If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him."

5사도들이 주께 여짜오되 우리에게 믿음을 더하소서 하니

5The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith!'

6주께서 이르시되 너희에게 겨자씨 한 알만한 믿음이 있었더라면 이 뽕나무더러 뿌리가 뽑혀 바다에 심기어라 하였을 것이요 그것이 너희에게 순종하였으리라

6He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you.

7너희 중 누구에게 밭을 갈거나 양을 치거나 하는 종이 있어 밭에서 돌아오면 그더러 곧 와 앉아서 먹으라 말할 자가 있느냐

7"Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, 'Come along now and sit down to eat'?

8도리어 그더러 내 먹을 것을 준비하고 띠를 띠고 내가 먹고 마시는 동안에 수종들고 너는 그 후에 먹고 마시라 하지 않겠느냐

8Would he not rather say, 'Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink'?

9명한 대로 하였다고 종에게 감사하겠느냐

9Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do?

10이와 같이 너희도 명령 받은 것을 다 행한 후에 이르기를 우리는 무익한 종이라 우리가 하여야 할 일을 한 것뿐이라 할지니라

10So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.' "

11예수께서 예루살렘으로 가실 때에 사마리아와 갈릴리 사이로 지나가시다가

11Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.

12한 마을에 들어가시니 나병환자 열 명이 예수를 만나 멀리 서서

12As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance

13소리를 높여 이르되 예수 선생님이여 우리를 불쌍히 여기소서 하거늘

13and called out in a loud voice, 'Jesus, Master, have pity on us!'

14보시고 이르시되 가서 제사장들에게 너희 몸을 보이라 하셨더니 그들이 가다가 깨끗함을 받은지라

14When he saw them, he said, 'Go, show yourselves to the priests.' And as they went, they were cleansed.

15그 중의 한 사람이 자기가 나은 것을 보고 큰 소리로 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 돌아와

15One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.

16예수의 발 아래에 엎드리어 감사하니 그는 사마리아 사람이라

16He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him-and he was a Samaritan.

17예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 열 사람이 다 깨끗함을 받지 아니하였느냐 그 아홉은 어디 있느냐

17Jesus asked, 'Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?

18이 이방인 외에는 하나님께 영광을 돌리러 돌아온 자가 없느냐 하시고

18Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?'

19그에게 이르시되 일어나 가라 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였느니라 하시더라

19Then he said to him, 'Rise and go; your faith has made you well.'

20바리새인들이 하나님의 나라가 어느 때에 임하나이까 묻거늘 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 하나님의 나라는 볼 수 있게 임하는 것이 아니요

20Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, 'The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation,

21또 여기 있다 저기 있다고도 못하리니 하나님의 나라는 너희 안에 있느니라

21nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

22또 제자들에게 이르시되 때가 이르리니 너희가 인자의 날 하루를 보고자 하되 보지 못하리라

22Then he said to his disciples, 'The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.

23사람이 너희에게 말하되 보라 저기 있다 보라 여기 있다 하리라 그러나 너희는 가지도 말고 따르지도 말라

23Men will tell you, 'There he is!' or 'Here he is!' Do not go running off after them.

24번개가 하늘 아래 이쪽에서 번쩍이어 하늘 아래 저쪽까지 비침같이 인자도 자기 날에 그러하리라

24For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.

25그러나 그가 먼저 많은 고난을 받으며 이 세대에게 버린 바 되어야 할지니라

25But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

26노아의 때에 된 것과 같이 인자의 때에도 그러하리라

26'Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.

27노아가 방주에 들어가던 날까지 사람들이 먹고 마시고 장가 들고 시집 가더니 홍수가 나서 그들을 다 멸망시켰으며

27People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

28또 롯의 때와 같으리니 사람들이 먹고 마시고 사고 팔고 심고 집을 짓더니

28'It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.

29롯이 소돔에서 나가던 날에 하늘로부터 불과 유황이 비오듯 하여 그들을 멸망시켰느니라

29But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

30인자가 나타나는 날에도 이러하리라

30'It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

31그 날에 만일 사람이 지붕 위에 있고 그의 세간이 그 집 안에 있으면 그것을 가지러 내려가지 말 것이요 밭에 있는 자도 그와 같이 뒤로 돌이키지 말 것이니라

31On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.

32롯의 처를 기억하라

32Remember Lot's wife!

33무릇 자기 목숨을 보전하고자 하는 자는 잃을 것이요 잃는 자는 살리리라

33Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

34내가 너희에게 이르노니 그 밤에 둘이 한 자리에 누워 있으매 하나는 데려감을 얻고 하나는 버려둠을 당할 것이요

34I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.

35두 여자가 함께 맷돌을 갈고 있으매 하나는 데려감을 얻고 하나는 버려둠을 당할 것이니라

35Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.'

37그들이 대답하여 이르되 주여 어디오니이까 이르시되 주검 있는 곳에는 독수리가 모이느니라 하시니라

37'Where, Lord?' they asked. He replied, 'Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.'
