1웃시야와 요담과 아하스와 히스기야가 이어 유다 왕이 된 시대 곧 요아스의 아들 여로보암이 이스라엘 왕이 된 시대에 브에리의 아들 호세아에게 임한 여호와의 말씀이라

1The word of the LORD that came to Hosea son of Beeri during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and during the reign of Jeroboam son of Jehoash king of Israel:

2여호와께서 처음 호세아에게 말씀하실 때 여호와께서 호세아에게 이르시되 너는 가서 음란한 여자를 맞이하여 음란한 자식들을 낳으라 이 나라가 여호와를 떠나 크게 음란함이니라 하시니

2When the LORD began to speak through Hosea, the LORD said to him, 'Go, take to yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the LORD.'

3이에 그가 가서 디블라임의 딸 고멜을 맞이하였더니 고멜이 임신하여 아들을 낳으매

3So he married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.

4여호와께서 호세아에게 이르시되 그의 이름을 이스르엘이라 하라 조금 후에 내가 이스르엘의 피를 예후의 집에 갚으며 이스라엘 족속의 나라를 폐할 것임이니라

4Then the LORD said to Hosea, 'Call him Jezreel, because I will soon punish the house of Jehu for the massacre at Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.

5그 날에 내가 이스르엘 골짜기에서 이스라엘의 활을 꺾으리라 하시니라

5In that day I will break Israel's bow in the Valley of Jezreel."

6고멜이 또 임신하여 딸을 낳으매 여호와께서 호세아에게 이르시되 그의 이름을 로루하마라 하라 내가 다시는 이스라엘 족속을 긍휼히 여겨서 용서하지 않을 것임이니라

6Gomer conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. Then the LORD said to Hosea, 'Call her Lo-Ruhamah, for I will no longer show love to the house of Israel, that I should at all forgive them.

7그러나 내가 유다 족속을 긍휼히 여겨 그들의 하나님 여호와로 구원하겠고 활과 칼이나 전쟁이나 말과 마병으로 구원하지 아니하리라 하시니라

7Yet I will show love to the house of Judah; and I will save them-not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but by the LORD their God.'

8고멜이 로루하마를 젖뗀 후에 또 임신하여 아들을 낳으매

8After she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, Gomer had another son.

9여호와께서 이르시되 그의 이름을 로암미라 하라 너희는 내 백성이 아니요 나는 너희 하나님이 되지 아니할 것임이니라

9Then the LORD said, 'Call him Lo-Ammi, for you are not my people, and I am not your God.

10그러나 이스라엘 자손의 수가 바닷가의 모래 같이 되어서 헤아릴 수도 없고 셀 수도 없을 것이며 전에 그들에게 이르기를 너희는 내 백성이 아니라 한 그 곳에서 그들에게 이르기를 너희는 살아 계신 하나님의 아들들이라 할 것이라

10"Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' they will be called 'sons of the living God.'

11이에 유다 자손과 이스라엘 자손이 함께 모여 한 우두머리를 세우고 그 땅에서부터 올라오리니 이스르엘의 날이 클 것임이로다

11The people of Judah and the people of Israel will be reunited, and they will appoint one leader and will come up out of the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.
